NewLandRise I forgot about that! :/

I just checked, and indeed, some categories were limited to 666 pages. For example, English for English learners.

The good news is that courses in the categories are sorted by how many people are using them, so if any courses are cut off, they'd be the least popular ones. That's still not great, though.

I just checked, and the highest course number that I downloaded (for any category) is 6515834. I suppose I could try probing all courses between 1 and something a bit past 6,515,834.

Are the short clips of native speakers includes in the official Memrise community courses or just in the new official Memrise courses?

Just in the new ones, that is the ones with colourful icons (not the old monochromatic ones).

I think it's interesting that not a single person has said that they miss how Memrise autosubmitted correct answers as soon as they were typed XD

I was just looking through old screenshots from the Memrise forum and noticed that my userscript for disabling that behaviour was one of my top links, haha 🙂

It should also show up on your dashboard, and you should be marked as the course's author, so you can edit it.

The version of the course that I copied may be a few months old, so if your course on My Little Word Land looks significantly different from the one on Memrise, just let me know, and I can download and copy a new version of it. Now that I have everything up and running, I should be able to do that within a day, rather than within three months! XD

neoncube we're all grateful for you taking the time with this project! However, I'd suggest that it is more important to start providing features to the site (like audio, multiple choice, classes/groups) as it's not so functional in its current state. A timeline of your intentions would be most welcome 🙂

At the moment, I'm splitting my time between cloning courses and adding new features, which I think is a good approach 🙂

It's amazing how much variety there is in the community courses! :D

While migrating courses, I randomly noticed that there are two courses for German speakers to learn Urdu, and both of them even have full audio! 😮

neoncube Amazing things happen when you harness people's willingness to creation. This is how Wikipedia got so big! That's why it's shameful that Memrise doesn't make good use of it…

Indo European Languages
Architecture
English for English speakers

I've also made some improvements to the cloning script and am rerunning it for all categories, to have it upload more courses that previously would have required manual intervention 🙂

Once assigned, will we be able to re-assign category to the list you have produced?

I'd also appreciate a way to search for courses by key words as that could be far quicker than going through a long list of them.

On MemRise one could do a search having selected a category - eg Geography then key word Earthquake.

Hi @[deleted], could you let me know if you have been able to upload these courses - I still can't find them (along with several Art courses I look after).

I noticed that a lot of the courses I created were not showing with the MemRise search by DW7 so I have added "Produced by DW7" to those courses, so a fresh » search « should list them all - some 275.

This one is also missing 7 Wonders ~ Ancient, Modern & Nature - by simone.zanotti - Memrise (under "Places" - not to be confused with the *100 version)

Just got back from my Christmas/New Year/birthday vacation! 🙂

I've begun running a script that's downloading unlisted courses. This should download courses that:

Were created by Memrise and later unlisted
Were beyond the 666 per-category page limit
Were recently switched from private to public

I expect this script to take about 1 week to fully run, since it has to check a lot of courses (about 2.5 million). Currently, it looks like about 1/5 of all courses were unlisted! o_o

I ran the script overnight, and it checked about 250,000 courses, so it may take a couple of weeks to download everything 🙂

Interestingly, the number of courses that are being discovered and downloaded rose from 20% to 70%! o_o
