This thread is to track progress on which Memrise community courses have already been migrated to My Little Word Land.

In general, I'm migrating courses one language pair at a time (e.g. Spanish for English learners, French for English learners, etc.). If you have a language that you'd like me to prioritize, just let me know! ๐Ÿ™‚

Courses that have audio or pictures as questions or answer haven't yet been migrated, since My Little Word Land doesn't yet support audio or video.

Thanks to @Olaf.Rabbachin for the idea to make this thread! ๐Ÿ™‚

Once English is done, I'd be thankful for anything with German as the source language. ๐Ÿ˜‰

      Still cloning ๐Ÿ™‚

The French for German speaker courses that were easy to clone have already been cloned ๐Ÿ™‚

Note that these new courses are using semicolons between synonyms, so that I don't need to update the courses once I change the separator to semicolons.

How did you overcome the 666 page limit per category on MemRise?

Maybe it's not the priority for now, but do you have a schedule for uploading non-language courses?

Also, have you downloaded the "multimedia" levels? In some courses they contains important grammatical/cultural information for learners.

And now that Ben Whately has granted permission for you to migrate the official courses here, does it include the short clips of native speakers saying the words/phrases? I personally find the clips very cute.

Oh, really? When/where did he state that?

NewLandRise I forgot about that! :/

I just checked, and indeed, some categories were limited to 666 pages. For example, English for English learners.

The good news is that courses in the categories are sorted by how many people are using them, so if any courses are cut off, they'd be the least popular ones. That's still not great, though.

I just checked, and the highest course number that I downloaded (for any category) is 6515834. I suppose I could try probing all courses between 1 and something a bit past 6,515,834.

johnastsang I've been holding off on non-language courses until My Little Word Land supports images (which I think I now pretty much having working! ๐Ÿ™‚ )

Are the short clips of native speakers includes in the official Memrise community courses or just in the new official Memrise courses?

Good to know. Looking forward, but don't drive yourself too hard!

Just in the new ones, that is the ones with colourful icons (not the old monochromatic ones).

              Thanks! ^_^

Indeed, I'm trying to work hard but also have fun with it ๐Ÿ™‚

              Interestingโ€ฆ I'll make a note to take a look ๐Ÿ™‚

I think it's interesting that not a single person has said that they miss how Memrise autosubmitted correct answers as soon as they were typed XD

I was just looking through old screenshots from the Memrise forum and noticed that my userscript for disabling that behaviour was one of my top links, haha ๐Ÿ™‚

neoncube I can imagine why some people don't want it and why some people find it helpful.

neoncube we're all grateful for you taking the time with this project! However, I'd suggest that it is more important to start providing features to the site (like audio, multiple choice, classes/groups) as it's not so functional in its current state. A timeline of your intentions would be most welcome ๐Ÿ™‚

                  Thanks, ArmyMFL ๐Ÿ™‚

I don't have a timeline for features, sorry.

At the moment, I'm splitting my time between cloning courses and adding new features, which I think is a good approach ๐Ÿ™‚

I've finished uploading the audio files to the cloud and am getting ready to start uploading audio for courses! ๐Ÿ™‚

It's amazing how much variety there is in the community courses! :D

While migrating courses, I randomly noticed that there are two courses for German speakers to learn Urdu, and both of them even have full audio! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ
