Would it be possible to transfer the database of the course lists of users to here? For example, I am learning Japanese with courses created by jlptbootcamp (https://app.memrise.com/user/jlptbootcamp/courses/teaching/). When I finished N5 Vocab (https://app.memrise.com/community/course/554/jlpt-n5-vocab/), I could go to his user page and find N4 Vocab (https://app.memrise.com/community/course/584/jlpt-n4-vocab/) to start learning. Without this feature, I would need to go to the sea of all courses, not sure if I could find a suitable course to continue.

For learning, multiple-choice tests, jumbled word tests, and audio tests would be essential for recreating the Memrise experience. For reviewing, I would love to see Speed Review and Difficult Words.

I know this is gonna be a lot of work. I am willing to provide any help as far as I can do. Kudos!

neoncube I think that's a great idea. You have added so much already! I think everyone has a great start to the languages you have already added. I'm thinking when you go back to migrating the new features will be automatically applied and will reduce additional work later. JMO of course.

By the way, we all appreciate you very much!

neoncube I suggest implementing TTS using the Web Speech API; since it is a web standard, there is no need to subscribe to a cloud service. The content will be spoken in the course even if no audio files are provided. The PC versions of Chrome and Edge offer online voices in multiple languages with no special setup required. Edge in particular has a very large number of supported languages.

In Memrise, it was up to the creator whether or not to require typing, but it would be nice if the user could choose. While Quizlet is such a system, but I do not find it to be as efficient a learning system as Memrise because it does not divide the questions into reasonable portions and is not optimized for review.

neoncube Apart from course lists of users, do you have the database of Groups? An example:

I know this feature may not be particularly important or useful, but I just feel like it's better to preserve as much info as possible before Memrise completely eliminates the Community section.

neoncube definitely what's now needed! I can't consider using the site fully until the learning modes have more functionality. As others have said, I'm happy to support financially to help get this off the ground!

Sorry for the late responses, everyone. I'm keeping an eye on this topic but prioritizing adding new features. Just started to upload audio files today ๐Ÿ™‚

Apologies but I have started my own thread before I had found my way around (or with ideas not seen elsewhere).

Rather than duplication please see Possible MemRise features for MLWL - My Little Word Land

There have been several endorsements and further comments on my list of suggestions.

If @[deleted] would like to merge mine with this one, that's fine by me.

Not sure I've seen this here but I think it would be really useful to have a feature that automatically learns the next however many so words or completely learns the course.

I'm moving over 3 courses each with about 1800 words. Each of these courses I've learnt completely and it'd be good to just set all the words to max and begin reviewing rather than relearning everything.

A quick update for people who are following this thread:

@Sarigne I've added basic support for either requiring or totally ignoring accents: https://forum.mylittlewordland.com/d/91-new-features-ignore-punctuation-and-ignore-accents/6 . Currently, it either requires all accents or none, but I'm keeping your idea in mind where it might be nice to have some sort of forgiveness for getting one accent wrong and another right ๐Ÿ™‚

BTW, you probably noticed, but I ended up needing to switch My Little Word Land to use semicolons, rather than commas, as synonym separators: https://forum.mylittlewordland.com/d/36-synonyms-now-separated-by-semicolons-instead-of-commas . There's a feature to automatically update your courses to use semicolons: https://forum.mylittlewordland.com/d/82-new-feature-change-commas-to-semicolons ๐Ÿ™‚

@ArmWaver Did we chat someone else (Reddit?) about your Tetun courses? Anyway, I've so far migrated two out of the three Tetun courses that were on Memrise: https://mylittlewordland.com/courses/1?page=1&searchText=Tetun ๐Ÿ™‚

@ZelenaMaฤka I've added support for multiple choice tests and audio! ๐Ÿ™‚

@ArmyMFL My Little Word Land now supports multiple choice tests: https://forum.mylittlewordland.com/d/94-new-feature-multiple-choice ๐Ÿ™‚

@spodermin You may have already seen, but My Little Word Land now support non-strict typing, audio, and auto-learn ๐Ÿ™‚

@Barrybounce02 Sorry for the super late reply '-_- Yes, I'd love for My Little Word Land to eventually support levels and putting the same word in different levels! ๐Ÿ™‚ I've also added support for ignoring accents. I'd be happy to add you as author to your course, if you're still interested! Sorry again for the late reply XD

Thank you @[deleted] for taking such an interest in our suggestions (and all your dedicated work) to make MLWL the "go to" alterative to MemRise for Community Courses (and abandoned MemRise ones), when they disappear from MemRise.

DW7 Happy to help! And thank you, everyone, for all the bug reports! ^_^
