Noda neoncube The capitalization of "random words" may actually be because of nouns, in German every noun is capitalized, so it's unlikely the AI made a mistake in this regard.
neoncube Noda Oh, I see! XD It did seem like the translator was capitalizing nouns in particular, but I'd thought that it was getting normal nouns confused with proper nouns. Do you speak German, by the way?
Noda neoncube Yeah, German is one of the languages I've been learning for a while now, it's kinda weird, but they really do capitalize every noun, regardless of being a proper noun or not, never really searched why they do that lol

neoncube I've added a language selector for people who aren't logged in: The not-logged-in portion of the site is only partially translated, but I figure it's better than nothing! 🙂 For example, the registration email and password reset emails aren't translated. Among other things, I'm hoping that this change will make it so that search engines in other countries will be able to figure out that courses in that country's language should be ranked higher. For example, hopefully Google Germany will rank the courses for German speakers higher. This might also make it so that courses that are aimed at non-English speakers are ranked lower on google.com, but I think that's probably okay.
neoncube My Little Word Land is now also available in Arabic, Bulgarian, French, Indonesian, Italian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Hungarian, Dutch, Norwegian, Polish, Russian, Romanian, Finnish, Slovakian, Thai, and Turkish! :)
neoncube I've finished translating the remainder of the site, including difficult things like the page number dropdown on the courses page! 🙂 (Although, admittedly, it looks like it still has some issues XD) The last piece of the puzzle should be translating the registration/password reset/etc. emails 🙂
neoncube @Olaf.Rabbachin I also switched from DeepL to Amazon Translate, so the quality of any words that were newly translated might be different. Hopefully Amazon Translate is better, since that's what we're using now! XD Amazon Translate is a lot cheaper. Essentially free, for the amount of words in the My Little Word Land UI 🙂

Olaf.Rabbachin Do you translate everything on the fly on did you rather translate everything once and saved it to the app's resources? It sure does sound as if you'd translate it on the fly! 🙂
neoncube Olaf.Rabbachin It's translated once and saved to the app's resources 🙂 This is partly to make the site load faster, and partly to save on cost 🙂 I actually ended up making it so that My Little Word Land is compiled separately for each display language, and the translated strings are interpolated into the source code during compilation. This makes the bundle sizes smaller, and it also saves a network request for non-English languages, since they don't have to separately load translations 🙂 This was quite the adventure XD
