cran I think this is a great idea! 🙂
In fact, the way that My Little Word Land originally worked was that each word was shown three times during a test, but one had to get a word correct three times in order for it to be learned, so if you got a word correct twice and wrong once, then it'd be 2/3 learnt, and in the next test, you'd only need to correctly answer the word once before it was marked as fully learned.
This didn't seem to work so well, so I eventually changed it.
Anyway, I like the idea of making it so that a word has to be answered correctly three times in order to be learned, but there's one problem that I haven't yet figured out how to handle:
If someone keeps getting one word wrong and gets all of the other ones right, then at the end of the test, they end up seeing the same word several times in a row. This is kind of awkward, and I'm guessing that it might result in them not learning that word as well as they could. Interestingly, this also happens when someone starts a test and then ignores all of the words except for one.
I'd be happy to get suggestions about what to do in this case 🙂 Maybe if a test gets to the point where there's only one word left and it still needs to be answered correctly more than twice, the test automatically ends and that words gets pushed to the next learning session.
