Leaderboard of learning points and create groups

As a teacher, I assign weekly homework on Memrise for my students. It would be great to have the ability to create class groups and view students' weekly learning points on the leaderboard. Please consider adding these features! Thank you for your awesome work!

sunlaoshi I think this is a great idea! 🙂 I remember that someone last year asked for something similar, and I think that now would be a good time to work on this.

I'm thinking that this would ideally be in three steps:

Email everyone on My Little Word Land, letting them know that I'm planning to release new features that would expose which courses they're taking and giving them an option to opt out.
Add a public leaderboard to each course that ranks everyone over the last week/month/all-time (?). I'm thinking that the best way to calculate points might just be how many cumulative resources they've gained (i.e. wood + stone + emeralds). Since My Little Word Land supports changing how often a word is up for review, this wouldn't be a totally accurate way of ranking people, but I don't think any ranking system will ever be perfect, so that's probably fine 🙂
Possibly add some teacher-specific features, like being able to add students to a group and then see everything about their progress. It might also be nice to be able to send a special URL to students that would auto-enroll them in the course and also automatically give the teacher permission to see their progress, etc.

@neoncube I love your ideas! You're really brilliant. Yes, I teach Chinese. Regarding the ranking system, I like your idea of awarding resources, but younger students might be more excited about the live cumulative points they can earn on Memrise, especially when the points add up. As teachers, we appreciate having more accurate learning statistics. I'd rather use the school budget to pay for these neat features if they work well. I admire what you did. When I compare My Little Word Land with Memrise, these several essential features are missing: the points system, the ability to create groups, invite links for students to join groups, and the leaderboard (weekly, monthly, and all-time). Thanks for constantly seeking improvement!
